So you’ve joined a new team, or maybe a new company as a Scrum Master. Now what?

We know that one of your primary responsibilities is to teach Scrum values, principles and rules. And if it the first time for you, you might be wondering how to go about it.

In my first two years as a Scrum Master, I did not touch anything training related because I felt that I’m still too new to this to teach others. However, I was taking away from my teams by not running any training sessions with them.

If I only had the material that I knew would work… I actually do!

Introduction to Scrum Workshop

Run a great training session stress-free

Use my guide for a workshop “Introduction to Scrum” to teach your team the Scrum framework, it’s key elements, roles and events through engaging exercises.

Luckily, today I want to share something with you that I am sure will take away all the stress from preparing your first Scrum overview session.

Maybe you have run quite a few introductions to Scrum already. Perfect! It means that you can find some new exercises and ways to talk about Scrum that can improve your future training sessions.

In the video, I am talking about three specific topics I cover in my presentations and the metaphors I use. I will also show you an exercise that I always include at the end to create powerful discussion points.

I think you already have the knowledge needed to teach others, and the only help you need is in finding the right way to present it.

Scrum Roles Exercise Title

What tools and exercises do you use when you run an introduction to Scrum?

As a bonus, I would like to share the closing exercise with you. It is an exercise about Scrum roles and the common misconceptions that you can easily turn into a game and expand to suit your needs. Watch the video to understand how I use it in my training.
